I was somewhere in the astral (really gotta get myself a map), when I came across this old English pub.

Well, to cut a long out-of-body experience short, after enjoying the hospitality of the local inhabitants, I started doing my thing… you know, facilitating;-)

Soon, I had the whole damn place in a ruckus… for some, it was illuminating (one woman put her astral phone number in my hand and told me to call her), and for others, well, let’s just say I wasn’t going to hang around to get myself lynched;-)

Don’t kid yourself folks… the illusions are just as grand in the next worlds – and amnesia is just as widespread.

Nevertheless, to paraphrase the late great Robert Monroe… nothing like a variable;-)

OBE: 11, December 2009

Woke up at 3am then went down stairs to do my usual preparations prior to doing an OBE session.

After eliminating distractions (bladder, hunger and thirst), I read a book on the subject of Higher-Self till around 4.15am then settled into my OBE session.

My focus for this OBE session was meeting Higher-Self, hence setting the intention by first reading a book on the subject.

In stead of using my usual OBE techniques, I used a more advanced method called ‘phase shifting’, a technique employed by Robert Monroe to help him avoid the “inner rings” (first few nonphysical dimensions) and navigate to the “outer rings” (higher dimensions, which is said to be where more enlightened beings reside as well as where Higher-Self is parked, just outside of time and space).

I wanted to use this technique because I thought… if I want to go straight to my conscious source then I might as well try using the right “tool” for the job, especially as all the more experienced out-of-body explorers such as Monroe, William Buhlman, and even Frank Kepple, were getting some good action with phase shifting (btw, if you’ve never heard of Frank Kepple then mosey on over to The Frank Kepple Resource, what an amazing guy!).

Right, after getting myself deeply relaxed by doing some breath work and using some hemi-sync (The Gateway Experience, CD #18), I set about the goal of meeting Higher-Self by using the phase shifting technique coupled with the following affirmations…

Now I shift my awareness to my conscious source…

After about five minutes of this affirmation, I switched to…

Higher-Self Now!
Higher-Self Now!
Higher-Self Now!

And after about five minutes of using this affirmation, I kept my focus on meeting Higher-Self as I allowed a slight dip in consciousness…

Then, just as I seemed to be dipping too much, I CLEARLY “heard” my name being called, a telepathic “voice” to help me regain just enough conscious awareness to continue my journey without loosing consciousness, or the classic ‘mind split’ affect as labelled by Robert Bruce, the author of ‘Astral Dynamics’.

Now, with elevated conscious awareness, I continued to focus on meeting Higher-Self, and again, I allowed my consciousness to ebb ever so…

Then, a rush of energy and quick flash of light, and before me stood a woman… so beautiful I thought as she and the light started to fade away.

I then must have allowed my consciousness to dip too much as I found myself waking up shortly after from an EXTREMELY vivid “dream”, which had strong elements of unconscious OBE activity!

The experience follows…

Dream/Unconscious OBE:

I found myself standing in a big hall full of people, and I had a strong thought in my mind that I must hurry along and get to the second instalment of a new series of seminars I’m running, called, The Higher-Self Briefings… but, a nagging “voice” in my head was saying… “it’s not your seminars, Todd, but another type of briefing”…

However, I ignored the message and walked around the hall looking for the manager as I wanted to enquire whether I could hold the seminar here, right now, as I knew “they” were on their way, so it was urgent that I organised the venue immediately!

Suddenly, logical reasoning switched up a gear, and I started thinking that the next Higher-Self Briefing wasn’t until the 20th of December, so why was I panicking about needing to organise a venue?

I then had the thought that “they” were at the meeting point, Amersham Station? Amersham, I thought, I must get to the station.

I then left the hall and was outdoors when I noticed I had an umbrella in my hand, but it was flapping about in the air, broken… but when I examined it more closely, I could see that the handle was out of its central position and that it had swivelled up one of the spokes, right to the end.  But, under closer inspection, I noticed the umbrella wasn’t broken, but yet was designed that way… at which point logical reasoning kicked in again and made me think, who would design an umbrella to do this (after “waking” up, I realised this must have been a signal to become more consciously aware within the experience, but my damn logical reasoning had switched itself off again!!!).

Walking away from the hall, towards Amersham?, I finally came to what I thought was the village centre, but on arriving, I realised the station was at the other end of the village, so I started walking with more of a rush as I kept thinking how “late” I was and how “they” would all be waiting for me. However, the more I tried to hurry up, the slower I walked… it was as if I had a great burden on my back and I was being slowed down under its weight.

Then, I came across a foot bridge that passed over a small gully, and as I made my way across it, I could see that a segment of the bridge was missing, so in my mind, I started swinging the bridge back and forth, and then with almost no effort, I jumped from the bridge to the other side of the gully. Once on the other side, I spotted what seemed to be a derelict train station in the middle of the woods, and suddenly had a deep feeling that “they” were here… that “they” were waiting for me inside.

As I walked around to the back of the station, I could see 8 young adults dressed in American style cheerleader outfits, one male and the others female… and as I approached them, they started shouting “our hero, our hero, our hero”.  Trying to calm them down, I asked, where are all the others, at which point, I walked into the station and found 10 or so older adults sitting, waiting…

And as soon as I saw the others, my conscious awareness snapped full on, and I had a sudden thought… where are all the others… so few are here… where are all the others?

Then, as I was about to communicate with those sitting down, I felt a rush of energy and motion and then soon found myself “waking up”, back in my physical body.

And as I became more consciously aware within waking physical reality, in my ears I could hear the voice of Laurie Monroe, on the Gateway CD…

“Now give thanks to those who have helped you… express your gratitude for this experience… know that you can always connect with each other… all you need do is think of the ones, those who have helped you, and know that help is always and freely available from this point forward…”

Why do I think Laurie’s words are significant?

Well, for over a year now, I’ve been using a special 3-hour extended version of the track that I cut specifically for my longer OBE sessions, as I didn’t want things like the guided aspects of the CD, such as, Laurie’s voice, and the very powerful signals that are used to bring you out of the strong altered states the CD induces… these signals caused so many of my fully conscious OBEs to prematurely end in the first year of my explorations…

However, I felt inspired over the past week to start using the original CD again… why now… after all these years, when FINALLY, I decide I will make a serious effort to meet with Higher-Self?

The syncrhonicity of it all is so powerful and inspiring!

This experience has already started to stimulate an avalanche of deep thinking in my mind…

So many questions…

I now need to induce some fully-conscious OBEs over the coming days and weeks…

Dream: 9 December, 2009

Standing in a room full of people, in a structure that was a mixture of the London Water Tower venue that I use for OBE workshops, and a holiday rental style property, I seemed to be leading a group of people in a meditation or studies, when suddenly, I became aware of a powerful energy that was filling the room… a radiant energy that seemed familiar!

I then found myself  high up in a tree, clinging to a branch when I became slightly “lucid”… at which point my heart leapt from the shock of being so high off the ground. After calming down, I then noticed the tree I was clinging to, stood in a circle of tall trees… the perfection of the grouping of trees was amazing.

Near the perimeter of the trees, I then noticed a friend who recently attended one of my OBE workshops… she gave me a quick wave and then headed towards the structure where I felt the powerful energy.

After waking up, I couldn’t help but feel this was an unconscious OBE, and I also had the sense that this was a type of nonphysical learning school… the type of school Robert Monroe and Whitney Schreiber have both written about.

And to wake up feeling totally “awake” and energised… at 3.45am – wow!

My words above just don’t give the experience justice, whether it was just a dream or a unconscious OBE!

And just yesterday I was telling a friend on the telephone that I felt some interesting, deep experiences are going to take place over the next few weeks.

I have an inward feeling that my learning is about to accelerate exponentially… I look forward to getting down to some serious self-initiated OBE activity over the coming days and weeks as I feel a meeting with Higher-Self is on the cards!

In my 4 plus years of conscious out-of-body adventures, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to say “sorry” and “goodbye” to 3 deceased loved ones…

Below is the telling of one of these experiences filmed during one of the legendary, late night, deep discussions that take place during the OBE workshops I run.

I was in my personal OBE exploration area doing an early morning session at 5am, when powerful, full-body vibrations swept in, and I easily separated from my physical body.

Once away from the physical, I found myself outdoors near the front of the house. I then hovered through a wooden gate and down the alleyway next to the house, but once in the alleyway, I noticed it looked different, and totally devoid of any objects… objects such as two small wood sheds for storing logs for my woodburning stove, and other various objects.  I then immediately noticed a small structure down the very far end of the alleyway, a structure that didn’t exist.

It wasn’t till after back in body that I remembered that in the exact spot where I saw the structure was old foundations for a shed that did exist at one point during the history of the property.

However, I don’t think this is to say that I actually had a time travel out-of-body experience as it could have just been a reality fluctuation, which is typical of OBEs in the first dimension outside the physical.

Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time related fluctuation OBE I’ve had in the alleyway next to my house… in fact, I’ve had several very strange experiences down that alleyway – so perhaps an area that deserves more of my attention!

Why did it take me so long?

Well, I can assure you it wasn’t from a lack of trying or belief, because I religiously practiced almost nightly and I always kept my spirits high.

And it wasn’t from a lack of resources either… I went out and bought myself a great big comfy reclining chair for doing my OBE sessions, I purchased the full 6-box, 18-CD set of the Gateway Experience Hemi-Sync program from the Monroe Institute, I ordered all 3 of Robert Monroe’s books, I got myself a new portable CD player, and after searching high and low for the perfect eye mask, I acquired the Mindfold – the Rolls Royce of eye masks;-)

OK, so if my slow start to getting out-of-body action wasn’t from a lack of effort, mental fortitude or supporting assets, what… what was the reason for taking so long to break by OBE duck?

Well, I have a few theories…

One theory has to do with a lack of good guidance, and another theory has to do with Synchronicity and Destiny!

Let’s start with examining the element of good guidance…

Although I had indirect mentoring from Robert Monroe through his most excellent books as well as the brain state altering power of the Gateway Experience CDs, I found the guidance for inducing OBEs offered by these two sources to be minimal at best; I consider Monroe’s books to be must have reads among out-of-body explorers, however, of his 3 books, ‘Journeys Out of the Body’ is the only one that offers any sort of instructions for leaving the body – instructions that are basic to say the least and somewhat uninspiring, and though the Gateway Experience CDs are a phenomenal resource of exercises and tools, it’s only the last 3 CDs in the program that are specific to the out-of-body state, but unfortunately, at no point are you actually given any useful techniques to focus on.

It wasn’t until I discovered William Buhlman’s book, ‘Adventures Beyond the Body’ that I felt I finally had the guidance I needed for inducing regular out-of-body experiences… I’ve since come to view Buhlman as the ideal facilitator; always open with his knowledge, and supportive and encouraging through his stories and personal experiences.

However, William Buhlman’s influence forms part of the synchronous element of my second theory – of Synchronicity and Destiny…

During one particular active week of out-of-body exploration, I bumped into a total of six nonphysical humans, all casually hanging around my house, and had several strange events during waking hours where physical objects were being influenced by nonphysical means… one of these physical manifestations saw a hanging light fixture being manipulated quite violently for a period of about 30-seconds.

Having these first-hand encounters has radically changed my perspective of ghosts and other related paranormal phenomena such as hauntings, and the poltergeist type activity mentioned above.

From this new vantage point, I now view the world around me in a totally different way. And same as the prominent out-of-body explorer and researcher William Buhlman, I no longer have a sense of privacy while in my own home… though I don’t let this change the way I live my life, it’s more a matter of adjusting my mindset to allow for the reality of life in the multidimensional Universe.

Anyone else out there have any interesting ghost stories to tell – whether in our out of body?

After contracting a nasty rash on my arms and legs from coming into contact with poison ivy in some local woods, I found it extremely difficult to sleep for a period of about a week(…itch, itch… scratch, scratch).

Well, one night in particular the itching was totally unbearable, so I went downstairs (around 3am), covered myself in calamine lotion then laid down on the couch in the lounge for a wee spell.

After about an hour or so of trying to focus my mind on relaxing, I must have finally lost consciousness – then, suddenly, I was shocked back into waking consciousness by extremely strong vibrations ripping through my whole body.

After reading and practicing out-of-body theory and techniques throughout the preceding year, I was instantly aware the vibrations I was experiencing could only be the vibrations I’d been studying about during this time period. As such, I immediately tried to separate from my physical body by sitting up, but due to getting too excited, the vibrations started to loose strength and fade. To say I was disappointed would be an immense understatement.

However, soon after composing myself, I started to see some interesting light phenomenon through my closed eyelids, which was immediately followed up by strong vibrations that again, coursed through my entire body… then, suddenly, I was surrounded by white light with a hand reaching out to me…

After reaching for the hand, I was lifted out of my body for a very brief moment until, again, my excitement got the better of me, and then slipped back into my physical body.

This experience taught me many things, but two things in particular were vital in helping me follow this first experience up with my first self-initiated experiences…

1. I learned to keep my excitement in check (fear is another barrier that needs to be controlled)
2. That sleep interruption can be very useful during initial, self-initiated out-of-body sessions

I also learned that a helping hand can also be useful in getting some action;-)
